ノートパソコンのHDDをSSDに / Replacing an HDD with an SSD for notebooks

This is already an old subject but even if your PC was quite old, if you could replace your HDD with an SSD, there is a good chance that it can still be used comfortably. The photo is of a notebook PC from Vaio back when it was Sony, by the model name VGN-3G which had a Core 2 Duo CPU with 4GB of ram. I believe it was a 2008 model? If that's the case, it's been around for 10 years. Not up to the level of PC games or video editing, but if it's about office work and watching video/listening to music, it can handle them gracefully.
First off you'd need to see what HDD is in your PC. For notebooks, 2.5 inch HDD models are the most common ones, and you would also need to measure the thickness as well. The HDD in the image is a 1.8 inch HDD which is an oddball. Not many notebooks use this model so it means replacements are harder to obtain.
Basically, at the time of this photo, I had a spare SSD which goes by the form factor called mSATA, but since the connectors don't match I used an mSATA to SATA converter board. The double story PCB is because of this. If your notebook has a 2.5 inch, this can be all skipped.
If you check the image above, actually it was too small that it didn't fit. So I improvised by using a container of a potato salad (or was it macaroni?) that was washed thoroughly.
First, you put in the original HDD and mark the container using it as a template.
Put some double sided tape on the back side of  the PCB.
Cut away the container material to avoid the extrusion of the PCB.
Since there wasn't enough thickness to it, I added some rubber feet to the corner to accommodate.
So now it doesn't wiggle and fits snugly.
If you want to duplicate your existing HDD content, there are many free software floating around so I will recommend you to get one of them. The software in the image is probably obsolete so I would suggest you search words such as "free HDD clone tool" on Google. There is always a chance of failure so please don't forget to backup your precious data!

The top image is not mine (the writer) but by my sister. She's the one responsible for the designing of the house renovation on our blog. She's been telling me she loved DIY, but I was l ike "But you wouldn't last long if you actually do the stuff no?" but I was wrong. She really likes DIY. A lot. Well, you can already tell by the photos in this article. By the way, her blog is here . First, you seem to need the rhinestones you want color/sizes, a specific glue for rhinestones, then a pointy stic

These are the end of the photos that have been taken for the moment. We did the cosmetics for the wall alongside doing the windows, which was done with the Diatomaceous earth that goes by the brand of Nerido , and is insanely easy to apply. I have never used a trowel before but it was to the level that it was anticlimactic. And I'm not paid to write this! But I must warn you, even though it's water-based, if you drip it on to the floor it'll get messy and you'll likely use a considerable amount of energy. The window frames aren't painted yet. The structural wall you see on the right side has a wallpaper applied. It works as an accent and mak

Stop right there! Enough badmouthing about Microsoft! The make of the house has an insane amount of windows on one side of the house so double windowing them on and on is what is done here. But since what we're doing is the same as the previous posts, so I'll just mostly introduce you the photos. Sorry for the backlit dark photo. After we got used to it, we started building the sill into a frame then attach it. This is the sawdust amount for just one section of the windows. But for some reason, this looks strangely familiar. It looks like a toy poodle. 3D is a bit difficult since it starts to crumble as you go. And a bear.
