Island kitchen unit has become lower in price than before, but at the moment, it still asks for a handsome amount in Japan. But then here, we have DIY. If there's nothing that meets the requirement, build it, is our logic here.
The kitchen unit itself is a typical cheap module from IKEA, so naturally, it goes against the wall hence there is no cosmetics on the other side.
As a solution, we built a western-style (as in not Japanese) cupboard which will become the cosmetic as well as a storage space.
My sister said she's aiming for "shabby chic" and that's why the cupboards paint isn't in uniform.
As mentioned in a previous post, my sister applied the wallpaper to the pillar and the structural wall herself.
Painted the wall with Gaina and also painted the wood frame around the window and the kitchen is done for now. Yes... I said for now.
Next, we'll go to the 2nd floor. That's also atrocious.
To be continued!
