これは誰もいないときに兄がやった作業です。単純に床下用のメンテナンスハッチを作りました。派手な色のビニールタイルが出てきましたが、やはり昭和の匂いがしますね。僕が住んでた時は明るい木の色のビニールタイルだったので、店子さんがそれを剥がしてこの濃い色の木の床にしたのでしょう。

This was something done by my brother when nobody was around. He basically made a maintenance hatch for the underfloor. The flashy colored floor is a vinyl floor sheet. It has the Showa era smell to it as well. When I lived here it was a pale wood colored vinyl sheet so then the tenant peeled that off and applied this dark wood color we see now.

これが床下の風景です。下馬評では戦前の建物ということなのですが、なんか雰囲気がありますね。

So this is what it looks like under the floor. Some say that this was a pre-war construction and you could tell that there is some ambiance to it.

もともと上水道のパイプを移動するために開けたそうです。その後床下に遮熱用のシートを貼り付けたりもしていましたので、必要でしたね。

Originally it was for rerouting the water pipes as I heard. But we also applied some thermal insulation under the floor so this was a necessity.

ハッチを閉じるとこんな感じです。この上に取り外しのできるように床タイルを貼って普段は見えないようになってます。それも大変でした・・・。後日ちょっと紹介します。

This is what it looks like after the hatch is closed. We laid removable tiles on top of this floor so it's not visible when not needed. That was hard as hell too... I'll show you some photos of that some other time.
