So the Saga continues. If you can spot the difference from the last posts, you can see dark grey-ish plywood screwed on. It's called Lathscut which is a plywood with a treated coarse surface for applying mortar.

出窓の台になる部分に断熱材を入れます。とにもかくにもここが外壁の一部になりますので。結果的にはラスカットと内壁の間にも入れておけば良かったと若干後悔しています。その方が冷暖房効率がだいぶ良かったはずです。

We applied a thermal insulator to the foundation of the bay window. After all, this will be a part of our exterior wall. In hindsight, I wish I'd applied them also between the Rascut and the interior wall. Would have improved the thermal problems immensely. In case you didn't know, Tokyo is freezing in the winter and boiling hot in the Summer.

新しい窓を入れる前に古い窓を外します。

Now take out the old window so we can install the new one.

結果的には窓枠を外すのはあきらめて破壊することになりました。

At the end, we gave up on the disassembling route and resourced to destroying the window frame.

勿論このままでは終わりませんでした。日本の治安が良いといってもさすがにこのままにはできませんよね。少なくとも東京では。ということで続く！

Of course, we didn't call it a day yet. Even though Japan is a pretty safe place, you can't just leave it like here. Well, at least in Tokyo. So to be continued!

DIYリフォームパート30 - 化粧 / DIY Home Renovation Part 30 - Cosmetics 今回でとりあえず撮りだめた分は終わりです。窓をやりながら化粧をやっていったわけですが、ほとんどの壁は珪藻土です。例のネリードというブランドのもので、非常に塗りやすくておすすめです。編者もこれ以前はコテで珪藻土をぬるという経験は無かったのですが、簡単すぎて拍子抜けです。広告費が出てるわけではないですよ！ただ、水性とはいえ床に落とすと拭かなければいけないので、それなりに体力は使います。 These are the end of the photos that have been taken for the moment. DIYリフォームパート29 - 窓地獄 / DIY Home Renovation Part 29 - Windows Hell おっと、マイクロソフトの悪口はそこまでだ！異常に窓の多い作りで建物の片側がほとんど窓という状況なので、以前の二重窓化の作業が延々と続きます。やってることは一緒なのでさらっとお写真だけ。 Stop right there!
