前回の投稿でこの家について良く311を生き延びた不思議について述べましたが、実はさらなる発見がありました。

The last post I wrote about the wonder of this house surviving the 311 earthquakes but there was more to be discovered.

このように、柱の下の方が水でくさりかけており、ボロボロになっています。空中に浮いてる状態ですね。

As you can see, the pillar has rotted away at the end and is basically floating in mid-air.

なので、以下の様に処理されました。

So here is how it was treated.

ボロボロになった間柱（細い柱）の先端を切り飛ばし、ブロックを敷いてその上に梁を通しました。梁は両側の柱にビス止めされています。所で写真の黒と黄色の電気のこぎりですが、RyobiのASK-1000という機種でなんと10000円しません！メチャメチャ大活躍なので、DIYや庭の伐採をされるかたは検討されてみてはどうでしょうか。

The rotted end of the studs was cut off, blocks were laid and a beam was rested on the blocks. The beam is bolted on to the pillars. By the way, the black and yellow power saw is a Ryobi ASK-1000, but it costs less than 100 bucks! It was a great help having it so if you happen to do DIY or if you do trimmings in your garden, you might want to see if you should get one.

この写真で分かりますが、柱の下にはスペーサーを噛ませました。壁面の荷重はブロックとスペーサーを噛ませた柱に分散という処置です。

You can also see in the photo below that some spacers were wedged into the bottom of the pillars. The remedy divides the weight of the wall on to the blocks and the pillars wedged at the bottom.

そして新しい窓を組み付ける構造を。出来上がりは出窓になります。

And built a structure for the new window to rest. Yes, it's going to be a bay window.

ビューティーショットと行きたいところですが、全然美しくないですね。

何にせよ今日の作業はひと段落。

DIYリフォームパート30 - 化粧 / DIY Home Renovation Part 30 - Cosmetics 今回でとりあえず撮りだめた分は終わりです。窓をやりながら化粧をやっていったわけですが、ほとんどの壁は珪藻土です。例のネリードというブランドのもので、非常に塗りやすくておすすめです。編者もこれ以前はコテで珪藻土をぬるという経験は無かったのですが、簡単すぎて拍子抜けです。広告費が出てるわけではないですよ！ただ、水性とはいえ床に落とすと拭かなければいけないので、それなりに体力は使います。 These are the end of the photos that have been taken for the moment. DIYリフォームパート29 - 窓地獄 / DIY Home Renovation Part 29 - Windows Hell おっと、マイクロソフトの悪口はそこまでだ！異常に窓の多い作りで建物の片側がほとんど窓という状況なので、以前の二重窓化の作業が延々と続きます。やってることは一緒なのでさらっとお写真だけ。 Stop right there!
